Happy Friday!

Today I am happy for dry weather so that I can wear my favorite pair of Burberry flats! (They are cloth, so don't get much wear this time of year!)
I am happy for my delicious Soy Chai Latte this morning on my way to a wedding flower consultation!
I am happy to have amazing clients! Especially ones that let me run wild with creativity for their weddings! I will have some great ones to share through the holidays!

And I am happy to have gotten to know so many fun and supportive people here!! Have a lovely weekend!

XOXO

Awards and Tags: Confession style!

Miss Wendy at Madras and Pearls passed the Sugar Doll award to me! Thank you Miss Wendy!Cassie at Hydrangea and White Daisies also gave me the Gem award! Thank you Cassie! It has been so fun getting to know so many genuine and sweet people in this on-line community!!

As you may know, the rules for the Sugar Doll award are as follows: List 10 things about your self, and pass it along to 10 people. Last week I had you ask me questions, this week I am going to confess 10 things about myself! Here goes:

1. Confession: I am going to be seeing "New Moon" at midnight tonight.

2. Confession: I saw the opening day midnight showing of "Twilight". Yes, I am one of those girls!

3. Confession: I have a major sweet tooth! And given the chance I could go through an entire box of Junior Mints in one sitting, the big box!

4. Confession: Not only do I not like to drive, I am not a very good driver. I have lost the reverse feature in two cars prior to learning you must come to a complete stop before going into reverse. Oops!

5. Confession: After spending last weekend with my adorable niece, I am feeling a little baby hungry, just a little.

6. Confession: I am in bed no later then 10:30 PM every night! But I am an early bird, so I feel justified!

7. Confession: Sometimes I tell husband a teensie lie about shopping. He will ask, "Oh is that new?" And I will say, "No, I think I have had this for a while." As I quickly make sure all tags have been removed! I think he is on to me though!

8. Confession: I watch MTV's "The City" every week. Gag me I know!

9. Confession: I have had a crush on Matt Damon since I first saw previews for "Good Will Hunting". Now that came out a while ago, and I still think he is dreamy!

10. Confession: I may or may not have plans to see "New Moon" on Saturday as well. Ok I do!

Good to get that all off my chest! Reading this I kind of see what a teenager may write! Young at heart right! Passing these along are always so hard...So please do not feel like this is a cop out, but being that husband had a birthday yesterday, I am passing both of these along to all November birthdays!

Have a great day! XOXO

Pretty In Pink

We had a wonderful weekend with husbands brother and his little family! Little Miss K was a delight, and we wish she could have stayed! Our weekend was full of good food, football, and even better company!

On Saturday afternoon we decided to head up for some shopping in Park City, we didn't make it very far up the canyon...Miss K didn't even notice the traffic on the drive up! She just had a little rest! (We ended up turning around on the closest exit, the roads were nuts I tell you!)
They made sure to have her wear her cupcake shirt, specially for me! You know I love cupcakes, and I loved seeing this little lady wearing them!Husband could not resist spoiling this little girl, she loved the soft bunny he gave her! Look at that little neck! Oh I love babies! It was nice having a weekend to bundle up inside, take walks between storms, have bags of popcorn, and lots of hot cocoa! Thanks for visiting, come again soon!!
Today is a special day, it is husbands birthday!! He will be teaching most of the day, so celebration this weekend! I am going to be baking cupcakes tonight to take to his class this evening though, so off I go to get cooking! Have a great day!

Special Delivery!

Remember my Holiday card shopping, refresher here? And my holiday card snail mail? (It is not too late to be added to my list, e-mail me your address!) Well darling Cassie at Hydrangeas and White Daisies had a very fun idea, and we put together a holiday card swap! My package from her arrived last week, filled with English treasures! Look at these beauties!
Too perfect, skiers, dogs, all so lovely! I am thinking a couple of them may need to be framed to have added to my decoration collection! Thank you Cassie, I hope your package from me arrives soon!!

This is an awful iPhone photo, but if you look closely you can see one of the little nests we discovered after all of our leaves had fallen. It is now covered with snow, but I had to share this little wonder! I hope our maple tree served as a good host to a little bird family!

Now I am off to hunt for the little camera plug thingy, I have so many photos from our family weekend to share, and I have no idea where it ended up! Have a great day, and don't forget to enter my first holiday giveaway!!

Projects getting done, waiting for our company to come!

We are playing host to husbands brother, his wife and baby this weekend! We love visitors, and cannot wait for them to get here! In preparation we have been trying to get every corner of the house ready for our guests! Fresh towels are in the guest room, flowers in every corner! I have even ventured to our storage room to pull out some of my favorite things that have not yet made their debut in our new home! I squealed with delight when I found my box of aprons this morning, I had feared they had been lost in our cross country journey earlier this year! But no, here they are! And they are the perfect addition to our mirrored key holder in the kitchen! Each one has a story, and I am thrilled to have them out! I think I have a bit of collectors syndrome, some may just call it a pack rat problem, but for these, I will take any of those labels!

Have a great day!

You asked...I will answer!

To complete the tag from my post yesterday, I will answer some of the questions people wanted to know about me!

MCW at Saving the Best for Last asked: What part of the country do you live in?
I was raised in New England, and went to school in the East. Growing up my family spent a lot of time in the Rocky Mountain region of the country, skiing, etc. So, when a position opened this year in the Business School at the University of Utah for a tenure track professorship, we jumped at the opportunity, knowing we already loved this part of the country! We do love it here, but I do miss my other "home".

Cassie at Hydrangeas and White Daisies asked: What is my favorite television program?
Sadly it is no longer in production, but I am hands down #1 Gilmore Girls fan! Love love! I have all seven seasons on DVD, and can watch any episode over and over!

Sunshinemeg asked: What is your favorite baked good?
I do not think it is any secret that I love treats! I don't know how to narrow this one down! I guess my favorite dessert would have to be a cupcake! I do love chocolate though, and lately my absolute weakness has been Shake Shack hot cocoa, one of the places I miss the most back east. But I have the recipe, and guess what?? I am going to share! Prepare to be hooked on this rich amazingness! (No low cal here! Sorry!!)

Shake Shack Hot Chocolate

1 quart whole milk-I use 2% at the most!
1 cup heavy cream-told ya, not low cal!
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp. salt
6 oz. Valhorona chocolate, any high qulaity dark chocolate will work!
Marshmallow Fluff to top

Bring milk, cream, sugar, salt to a simmer. Take off heat and add in chocolate. Add the vanilla, poor into mugs and top with fluff! BEST EVER!!!!!!!

Pink Polka Dota asked: (And Chic and Pink, but she has another question too!)
How did you meet your husband?
We met at school. I was a sophomore in college, he was in his masters program. We kept running into each other at parties here and there, he had been in a fraternity during his undergrad, so he still hung out with people I knew through the greek system. But what stood out was that he didn't drink, and neither do I. We eventually realized that we went to the same church, so we were seeing more and more of each other, one thing led to the other, we started dating, left for his PhD and my masters, got engaged, got married...here we are three years later! We have had fun so far!!

Jules at Chic and Pink asked: What are some of your pet peeves?
Well I do not like driving, so when I am and people are going to slow, or being too agressive, watch out! It really makes me crazy! I would also have to say nail biting, lets just say I had a very intense biology teacher in highschool, and the stories! Well they have stuck with me, and when I see a nail biter, those memories come flooding back, and gag me! I will leave it at that!

Thank you for your sweet comments, and fun questions! I hope you were not completely bored to tears!!

So on this award goes to you darling ladies! Let us know a few things about yourselves, and pass this along!

Have a great day!! XOXO
